Joining Monad
I’ve joined Monad!
Monad is an EVM-compatible blockchain that aims to process 10,000 transactions per second (TPS). For comparison, Ethereum currently processes 15 TPS and layer 2 chains process ~50 TPS.
Why does this matter?
Twitter was able to shut off API access to third-party developers at a whim. Apple charges a 30% tax on all apps built on iOS. Instagram can seize a creator’s handle arbitrarily and shares no revenue with creators.
Blockchains, on the other hand, are computers that can make reliable commitments. Blockchains are open-source, decentralized, and provide strong guarantees to developers that their code will run as intended. Applications involving trust—such as money, property, identity, and governance—can be built without fear of unexpected changes.
To onboard the next billion users onchain, we need a scalable blockchain that lets developers build applications that weren’t possible before because of low throughput and high costs.
I’ve admired what Keone, Eunice, and James have built to date.
If you’re building an onchain application, let me know! I’m excited to onboard the next generation of developers who want to have a big impact.
